Denbies May 2024 - The Surrey Group Show Their Ajuga Collection For The First Time

12th May, 2024

The Surrey Group held and amazingly successful Plant fair at Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking on Sunday 5th May.  The fair netted an income of around £2,100 and got to show their proposed Ajuga National collection to the public for the very first time.

A display of well over 40 different cultivars and a few of the species which are in horticultural use in the UK were displayed and were well received by the public who wanted to learn more about these fascinating and useful little plants and of the work of Plant Heritage. Many thanks to Jane Sutton and Paul cooper who worked so hard to bring this display together.

Many thanks also to Claire Davitt who organised the fair and to all those that helped on the day, to Stud Nursery for growing on so many plants, to all those the ferries plants around and who grew and brought plants.  Also many thanks to those who came to the Fair on the day.  Also, a big ‘Thank You’ to all the nurseries who supported us on the day and to Denbies Wine Estate for hosting us.  A very enjoyable and successful day for all.
