13th century castle surrounded by extensive gardens with a variety of planting. Walled garden, jungle garden, mixed & herbaceous borders, and a range of woodland garden areas. Large collection of ferns with indoor fernery and woodland plantings. The collection is of hardy species and cultivars of Matteuccia (Ostrich Fern) and Woodwardia (Chain Fern).
