Visit to The Old Rectory, Thruxton

This four-acre garden enjoys panoramic views of the surrounding Herefordshire countryside and Hay Bluff. Created in 2007 the garden is constantly evolving and incudes a two-acre formal garden with yew and hornbeam hedges providing a backdrop for mixed borders along with woodland borders, part walled vegetable parterre, heritage orchard with Herefordshire varieties and wildlife pond. Seating dispersed around the garden for visitors to relax and enjoy the views.

Directions: From Hereford take A465 south towards Abergavenny. After 5 miles at Shell Garage (Locks) turn right B4348 towards Kingstone and Hay on Wye. After approximately 1.5 miles take first turn left signed Abbey Dore and Cockyard. After 200yards, take the farm track on left (before going downhill).
