Visit to the Old Rectory
Beautiful Garden in the Windrush Valley. Places limited - booking only.
By kind permission of Angela and Michael Cronk: an opportunity to visit the garden at the Old Rectory, Naunton.
This Georgian rectory comprises an elegant square-built house and an acre of gardens. The river Windrush borders the garden and water plays a significant role in the garden layout.
Designed by Dan Pearson, some twenty years ago, the garden comprises a series of zones capturing a range of moods. There is a formal contemplative area in the canal garden, lush plantings around a restored water garden and a terraced garden rich with upright perennials and box. . For more detail including some gorgeous photographs see here and here.
We will be guided for our tour by gardeners, Jacky and Ian and the tour will be rounded off with tea and biscuits.
IMPORTANT!
Because of the layout of the garden, we are limited to 15 visitors. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, with preference given to Plant Heritage members. Please contact Stevie to book, contact details below.
Parking is around or near the Village Green.
Angela and Michael do not charge for visits to the garden but a suggested donation of £10 will be given to the local church, St Andrew's. Please bring cash on the day. Any photos taken are for private use only.
Many thanks to Peter Lewis for arranging this visit on behalf of the group.
