Visit to the Gardens at Daylesford
A private tour of the garden of Lord and Lady Bamford, nr. Moreton in Marsh.
A private tour of the Gardens at Daylesford House, for members of Plant Heritage and the Cotswold Cottage Garden Group.
Originally created in 1790 for Warren Hastings, the gardens have been restored and enhanced by the present owners to recreate the original setting of semi-open landscape and meadows with more formal gardens, using organic techniques. The magnificent two acre walled garden includes with a large vegetable potager, orchard walks and yew-hedged 'rooms' comprising a cut-flower garden, quince lawn and pot garden; a large orangery, incorporating a central citrus bed; a restored ice house; a trellised rose garden, a secret garden which commemorates the new millennium; a pavilion and formal pools.
The owners of Daylesford House have specifically requested that photographs are NOT taken in their garden or grounds. No dogs allowed except guide dogs.
Refreshments are not included in the ticket price, but group members can visit the Daylesford Farm Shop and Cafe after the tour.
Payment will be in advance (preferably by BACS) - please contact Stevie not later than 7th May to reserve your place and for further details.
