Talk
Of Meads & Flowers
Talk by Nathalie Mignotte, also via Zoom
This talk will help us to appreciate the Medieval gardens (the Hortus conclusus, the Hortus deliciarum and the apothecary/monastic gardens) and their relevance to today's gardening practices. The presentation also looks at plants' symbolism and the development of gardening in conjunction with the evolution of urbanism.
Nathalie is a former lecturer and academic manager of the Horticulture department at Hartpury College (early 2000s). She currently works for an independent, family run garden centre as well as speaker for gardening groups and WI.
There will be Plants for Sale, a Raffle (donations much appreciated) and refreshments tea/coffee and homemade cake to follow. Please do bring along any seasonal plant material (cut or potted) to show to the group.
