Talk

21st Century Cottage Gardens

Talk by Sally Gregson, also via Zoom.

Please join us at Shurdington for this garden interest talk, which will be simultaneously broadcast via Zoom.

After many years of dreaming through an office window, Sally re-trained in horticulture as a mature student at Hadlow College, Kent, in the early ’80s. When her family moved to Somerset over 30 years ago, she took the opportunity to open Mill Cottage Plants.  The nursery developed over thirty years, concentrating on the Japanese Hydrangea serrata hybrids, and the increasing genus of Epimedium. It exhibited for many years, culminating with the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, before closing in August 2021.

Sally speaks regularly on a variety of gardening topics in the UK and abroad, and has written many articles on Hydrangeas and Epimediums. Her book 'The Plant Lover's Guide to Epimediums' was published in 2015 and a new book:  ‘Designing and Creating a Winter Garden’ will be published this March.

Plants for sale, raffle (donations appreciated), tea/coffee and cake.

Please bring along any plants or cut material of seasonal interest that you would like to show to the group.

Non-members attending via Zoom are invited to make a small donation to Plant Heritage, by following this link.
