Private garden visit MOTHECOMBE HOUSE
By kind permission of Mr and Mrs J Mildmay-White.
Mothecombe House is an elegant Queen Anne house standing in a valley close to the sea. The garden benefits from the mild climate. Near the house the garden has been beautifully planted with Lavenders and other plants to provide pollen and nectar for bees and other insects.
There is an orchard underplanted with spring bulbs and a Camellia walk through woodland with Magnolias and Bluebells. A stream and bog garden are home to huge Arum Lilies and Iris. There are Rhododendrons to take over flowering from the Camellias. Wild flower meadows are being established, adding diversity of plants, insects and other wildlife.
Head Gardener, Martin Haxton, will give us an introduction and take us around the garden.
