Kniphofia ‘Goldfinch’


Description:
‘Goldfinch’ was introduced some time before 1952 by Slieve Donard nursery in Northern Ireland. It is a tall, elegant plant with bright golden yellow flowers. Slieve Donard bred a number of Kniphofia cultivars which they named for bird species, many are thought to be no longer available. The Slieve Donard nursery introduced over 250 plants during its lifespan (from 1906 – 1975), with many of their introductions becoming garden favourites.
