Perennial from termperatue region of Central & S. Europe to N. Caucasus. Green-tipped, white bracts, greenish white flowers. Not often grown as a species as the selected cultivars 'Shaggy' and 'Moira Reid' are more favoured due to their longer bracts and larger flowers.
