Lilium × dalhansonii ‘Mrs R.O. Backhouse’ (IIc/d)


Description:
Raised by Robert Ormston Backhouse (1854-1940) of Sutton Court, Herefordshire circa 1921 and named for his wife (Sarah Elizabeth Backhouse 1857-1921). Mrs Backhouse developed the Backhouse hybrids which were raised in the early 1890s. This cultivar was introduced to commerce by R. Wallace & Co. and received an Award of Merit in 1921. Both Mr & Mrs Backhouse were renowned daffodil hybridisers breeding more than 470 cultivars.
