Synonyms: Rubus fruticosus var. laciniatus, Rubus nemoralis

Description:
Trees and Shrubs Online cites origin as unknown. First illustrated by Plukenet in 1691 from a specimen collected by William Sherard from Jardin des Plantes, it was subsequently noted, unnamed, in Philip Miller’s Dictionary from the 6th edition (1752). Named R. fruticosus var. laciniatus by Weston in 1770 and again illustrated in 1806 (Willdenow), the specimen originating from the Berlin Botanic Garden and was described as R. laciniatus.
