Description:
The species is described by Kew Plants of the World online as having a native range of W. South America to NW. Venezuela, and was first published in Bonplandia (Hannover) 2: 280 (1854). It is a pseudobulbous epiphyte, growing primarly in the wet tropical biome(s).
