Hedera helix ‘Hedge Hog’


Synonym: Hedera helix ‘Hedgehog’

Description:

According to the American Ivy Society Journal of 2014 this cultivar was discovered circa 1985 by one of their members. Gordon Kinney noted the unusual growth as a sport on the cultivar ‘Kobold’. Upright habit with variable leaves, some lobed and unlobed, folded together and held tight around the stem. Prone to fasciated growth, creating a tight ball at the end of stems.
