Description:
Perennial with a height to 1–2 m. Flowers up to 5cm in size appear in summer are usually, blue purple, occasionally light red or yellow, up to 5 cm. Native habitat is usually broad-leaved forests, coppices or marsh areas although it can also appear as an escapee from cultivation.
