Described in The Gardener's Guide to Growing Penstemons (Way & James) in 1998 as a recent introduction circa. 1995 that shows no significant difference to ‘Andenken an Friedrich Hahn’ (syn. ’Garnet’). Earliest known record is that this plant came from an unspecified source in Nottinghamshire.
