Fritillaria imperialis ‘Kroon Op Kroon’


Synonym: Fritillaria imperialis Crown Upon Crown

Description:
Cited in Dutch catalogues circa 1872 this is an old cultivar also listed in Barr’s catalogue of 1872 under the English translation of ‘Crown upon Crown’. The inflorescence consists of two whorls of orange-red flowers 4.5-5cm long on plants reaching to 70-100 cm tall. Young plants may not display the two whorls of flowers which are mostly seen on robust specimens of this cultivar.
