Synonym: Centaurea montana ‘Lilac Strain’

Description:

Hardy perennial with grey-green leaves adorned with silvery hairs. In late spring to summer, upright stems bear delicate lilac flowers featuring purple centres. Grows to 0.5 x 0.5 meters within 2 to 5 years and thrives in any moist yet well-drained soil. It prefers full sun to partial shade. Dead head to promote continuous blooming, remove spent flowering stems along with any damaged leaves as new growth appears in spring. Attractive to pollinators and useful food source for invertebrates.
