Description:

Hybridised 1928 by Maisie Lowe (& Gibson?) of Oakfield Gardens Sussex. Listed in AIS Journal of America 1929 with reference to receipt of silver medal at Vincent Square show.  Known as 'Mrs. J.L. Gibson’ in the USA after Maisie Lowe married J.L Gibson. Awarded the Dykes Medal by the RHS in 1948, cited in Award Nurseries cat 1949-1950 as bred by 'Gibson 1930 Deep blue velvet. 3ft. A.M., R.H.S., 1932. F.C.C., R.H.S., 1938'.
